Armed Lifestyle Magazine is a free digital magazine that is released every other month from January to December and is written by a staff of NRA and USCCA certified instructors. I, too, have the honor and privilege of joining the staff as a contributing writer.
In this post, I’ll be explaining why I partnered with Armed Lifestyle Magazine and the Swanson Media Group.
According to the website, the magazine “distinguishes itself as a celebration of our Second Amendment rights and “We the People” who live within it” while “focusing on the term “Armed” being an educated and prepared mindset to handle critical incidents with the confidence along with skillsets to use any tools needed such as med kits, heightened situational awareness, edged tools, handguns and more.”
I first met Trampas Swanson – Owner and Editor of the Swanson Media Group – at the Annual USCCA Expo in Milwaukee, WI in September 2023 as he was one of the instructors in a seminar I had registered to take. A few weeks later in October, I had reached out to express interest in becoming a contributing writer because I believed I had something to offer after I had reviewed a couple previous issues.
During the call with Trampas, we discussed the mission of the magazine to goals and expectations to our backgrounds. I think we had talked for 45 minutes; to be honest, I could’ve been on that call for hours! Trampas is very easy to talk to and is relatable as we have similar backgrounds. I’ve partnered myself with Armed Lifestyle Magazine because we share a common goal and philosophy when it comes to educating students.
What I’ve found with many industry magazines is that the articles are mediocre and offer little excitement. With that said, I don’t read industry magazines with the exception of Concealed Carry by the USCCA and Armed Lifestyle Magazine by the Swanson Media Group! Personally, I find the articles to be more relatable, practicable and easy to understand for even a novice because of the wealth of information that’s presented by all of the writers as we all have industry experience and come from various backgrounds whether it’s law enforcement, security, military and/or self-defense.
