If you smoke cigars yet are in search of a brand that also values your 2A right, look no further than Guns & Gars!
In this post, I’ll be telling the story of how I came across Guns & Gars as well as why I decided to partner and affiliate myself with their brand.
According to the website, “Guns & Gars is a testament to that way of life, boldly entering the cigar industry with the 2nd Amendment Cigar Collection; a unique brand and blend that not only reflects a bold personality, taste for luxury, and cool-under-fire demeanor, but also celebrates the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.” They are based in Florida and source their cigar line from Nicaragua due to its “diversity of terroir and tobacco farming legacy.”
I first heard about Guns & Gars around early 2023 from a peer of mine – Amy Lucas – who happened to be friends with the owner of the brand, Brian Gordon, as she was also advertising the products on her social media. I then began researching the company and found that we share similar values – not only our love for the 2A but also our dedication to quality and having boldness in what we do.
In September of 2023, I had volunteered as a handgun instructor at the first annual Empowered 2A Women’s Range event in Lansing, MI that was organized by Gun Owners of America and Amy where 75 out of the 100 women that registered attended. The sun was out all day and everyone enjoyed themselves while learning how to be safe and responsible gun owners, which you can’t get much better than that for an outdoor range event. At the end of the event, during the debrief, we were offered free samples of the 2nd Amendment Cigar Collection as a gift and thank you for donating our time and resources. I had asked “What’s the most popular option?” and was told that Barber Pole was. Looking back, I wish I grabbed one of each to try but only went with Barber Pole at the time.
One of the aspects of Barber Pole that I enjoyed was that it has a sweet aroma to it. This is something that I mentioned to Brian when I reached out to express interest in affiliating and partnering myself with his brand. Unlike cigarettes and tobacco chew, cigars have a sophistication and a luxurious-feel to them. I’ve never been a fan of the smell of cigarettes due to the chemical odor and cheap quality, and the tobacco chew grosses me out when I see the spit in bottles, trash cans or on the ground. Cigars don’t bother me the same way that those other options do. With cigars, I enjoy the smell and they are higher quality in my opinion. Barber Pole, in particular, makes a great choice with your morning coffee and a good book, on the golf course or relaxing in the evening with your friends.

As time goes on, I may diversify more and launch my own cigar label with Guns & Gars as I see the alcohol business being a saturated market and a contradiction to what I currently do with firearms training in my opinion.
