I first met Elliot Harris, founder and inventor of BONE-DRI, at the 2023 USCCA Expo in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I was meeting with various vendors and I came across his booth. When he said that his products can help prevent rust in firearms, needless to say as someone that tends to be fairly skeptical, what he continued to say piqued my interest.
Unlike other brands, BONE-DRI products are engineered with Absorbits, which is the moisture-removal technology throughout the case that prevents rust from developing. According to my research, in simple terms, this technology works on the same principle as commercial de-humidifiers but without the need for electricity. The moister-wicking process can vary but ranges between 6-24 hours. To dry the case after its use, simply place the case in the sun, dry with a hair dryer or in the clothes dryer on low heat settings.
While at the booth, I had the chance to briefly test out this technology and was quite impressed!
