My Experience at the 2023 USCCA Expo
One of the biggest reasons I’m passionate about bringing this technology to our community comes from my own experience.
While attending the 2023 USCCA Expo in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I had the opportunity to participate in a reality-based simulation demonstration.
Like many people, I expected my firearms training and experience to carry me through the scenarios with ease.
Instead, the simulator quickly exposed both my strengths and my weaknesses.
Although my marksmanship was solid, I discovered that decision-making under stress, situational awareness, communication, and problem-solving required just as much attention as shooting accurately.
That experience reinforced an important lesson:
Defensive training isn’t just about shooting—it is about making good decisions under pressure.
It inspired me to make this type of valuable training available to others so they can learn those lessons in a safe environment instead of during a real emergency.
